Lisa Estes has dedicated her career to the non-profit sector, but over the last 10 years of working at Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Houston, she knew this was the place she wanted to entrust her final gift. As RMHC Greater Houston’s Chief Advancement Officer, Lisa has seen firsthand the impactful work they do.
“When I first walked into Holcombe House, I was in love with it,” Lisa says. “There are three things that are very important to me about the organization – I love being affiliated with the Medical Center because it is such an honor to be a part of world-renowned research done in Houston. I love the community living environment because I believe being with other people is healing and therapeutic. Lastly, I love the fact that we serve everyone, no matter their financial situation.”
Being a member of the Legacy of the Heart Planned Giving Society feels like a badge of honor to Lisa. “I feel proud that I can make a transformative gift to an organization that I just feel so good about. I am not just an employee; I am a supporter and I believe in this mission, the organization and the leadership. It is nice to be able to know that when I am gone, my kids can say, ‘Look what Mom did.’ ”
Lisa also notes, “I want Ronald McDonald House Greater Houston to be strong for generations to come. I know everyone who is a member of the Legacy of the Heart Planned Giving Society is instrumental in creating that financial stability for a solid organization.”
