Stay Close to Your Child When it Matters Most

Only steps away from your child’s room, our Ronald McDonald House inside Texas Children’s Hospital serves families with children in Neonatal, Pediatric, and Cardiovascular Intensive Care. The bedrooms are free to families on a space-available basis and must be requested daily. Speak with your child’s ICU receptionist or your social worker for possible assignment of an overnight room. For NICU 2, 3 & 4, please check with the unit secretary. 

  • 19 private bedrooms with a full-size bed and private bathroom
  • Daily 6PM check-in and 11AM checkout
  • Rooms available for daytime nap from 1PM-4PM

Our House is your home and our staff, volunteers, and donors want you to feel as comfortable as possible. Ronald McDonald House strives to offer everything you might need during your stay including:

  • Community kitchen with complimentary meals and snacks

  • Library
  • Access to “Children’s Garden” outdoor space
  • Wifi

If your child has been admitted into an intensive care unit at Texas Children’s Hospital and you would like a tour of the Ronald McDonald House, please visit us on the 4th Floor of the Abercrombie building (by the orange elevators) between 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Ronald McDonald Lounges

There are 10 different Ronald McDonald House Lounges throughout Texas Children’s Hospital.  The lounges are a place for families to regroup, rest and refuel any time of day or night. Amenities include comfortable sofas, a kitchen/dining area with complimentary snacks, a universal charging station, and more. These spaces are available for families whose children are receiving care on these floors:

  • Cancer and Hematology Center’s Inpatient Unit (9th Floor West Tower)
  • Cancer and Hematology Center’s Outpatient Clinic (14th Floor Mark Wallace Tower)
  • Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (16th, 17th & 18th Floors Legacy Tower)
  • Pavilion for Women Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (8th Floor Women’s Pavilion)
  • Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (9th, 10th, 11th & 12th Floors Legacy Tower)
